I will never buy anything MOEN period. When you need a special puller to replace a moen valve from hell, it's time to stop buying their shiiiiiiiiiitttttttttt.

watched several videos using "extractor" tools. when and bought 2 sets. "Saw" this, grabbed my jig saw and metal blade. Found a longer metal blade. 2 cuts, a nail and a hammer and threads are out, new shower arm in. For the masses, I do NOT recommend using a jig saw! The manual way shown is optimal. If you can still find an electric body saw then it's a great time. Tim, great video, thank you much!

Great video!! Thank you!! IF the present (Moen) cartridge is a twist on-off CAN a pull on, push off type replace it? Do any of these cartridges get sticky inside with age to where they don't mix the temps right?

I almost wanted to get a petition started when I had to try to find replacement valve stems for this faucet in my home, which was obviously changed out and replaced with something other than the original manufacturer stems. I don’t understand why there is not an industry standard with shower/sink faucet stems. It is absolutely ridiculously unnecessary to have as many variations of stems as there are on the market. I understand variations in certain settings but there really should be an industry standard with these faucet handle stems.

Learned many, many years ago from Gallager, that it's a water heater and not a hot water heater. As he said, why would you want to heat hot water?

Love this video and been replacing just the seats for years. Now it continues to drip with brand new seals. Dont really understand why but I guess my only choice is to buy the 65 dollar cartridge for the 4th time. Our water is pretty bad, lots of hard water and scum/sediment in the pipes. Can't find anything wrong with the cartridge and hate to buy a new one but what else to do?

would you have been better off installing a tankless water heater? I just had a plumber at my mobile home. He looked at the access panel for the waterheater (it's outside the home) and had no clue how to open it up to get in there, let alone put it back. I told him forget it. I was hoping to find a video of how to open that thing up.

I am trying to learn some basic plumbing since I bought an old house. The previous owner never did anything about a leaking GD and now the whole cabinet needs to be replaced.. Once I got a 20k estimate from a contractor to totally redo my kitchen I decided that I needed to learn how to DIY this shit and plumbing is a good place to start. If I diy it's about a 1/4 of what they want to charge.

Thanks for the trick with the pliers. I was getting pretty frustrated being unable to seat the thing back in place with my hands, but it went right in after I used the pliers to push and then turned the housing to secure it. All the other videos I watched never seemed to have that problem, for them it always popped right in by hand, no problem. I'm glad I came acoss yours. Only other thing I did differently was use a rubber strap wrench, made getting a grip and force pretty easy.

Ive got one of these I'm trying to install to use for kitchen sink. Is there a work around for the drain, strainer, etc??? Without using that cast iron pedestal drain? anything? I've got faucet, got plumbing in wall. Just need to get strainer and all connections from there to black plumbing pipe. I don't care how it looks, just want it to work. How do I know what size strainer?

5:03 Great job! Only question is how did the dishwasher pull out the grills and filters out of the drain after you placed it so far down into the pit? Did you have to go back and cut it out to let the drains out or are they split grills? Those guys have to pull out the grills and drain filters to clean them at least every few days. Did they just figure they should clean it while it's hanging off the drain pipes? Regardless of my questioning, your work is at least 10 times better than the set up we have at my jobsite...

  • @guitartec

What about when you've done all this (and more) multiple times, and the water still leaks through the bottom seal like you don't have a drain installed, cause that's EXACTLY what's happening to me.
